Grace Bible Church in Woodstock, GA
Grace Bible Church was founded in 2003 by several families wanting to establish a new church in the Cherokee County, Georgia area. We met in homes in Canton and Woodstock until 2005, then moved into the Holiday Inn Express meeting room in Canton for our Sunday morning activities. This year we have moved into Cherokee Christian School, where we meet in the high school building. Our people also gather for Bible studies, prayer and discipleship at various times through the week. We are not a part of any denomination, but are part of a centuries-long tradition of faithfulness to Scripture and of building up believers in God’s truth. We associate with like-minded churches in Georgia and around the world, and work together with these churches in ministry. Our congregation is made up of people from all walks of life who share a common fellowship in Jesus Christ and a love for the Bible. We are a reformed, non-covenantal congregation practicing believer’s baptism. We are led by a body of elders who have responsibility for the oversight of all church functions.

In the Sunday school messages for both weeks, Dave continues our systematic study of the doctrine of man, by first tackling common views on the composition of man, then by beginning a detailed look at the definition of sin -- a more complete definition than just "anything that's wrong." In the April 20th sermon, we welcome Jeremy Cagle back for a visit, and see from the Scripture that Jesus's resurrection is an essential and uncompromisable doctrine of Christianity. In the April 27th sermon, we wrap up our study of the Beatitudes by examining Matthew 5:10-12, and its paradoxical tie between persecution and blessing.

Sermon and Sunday school audio for March 2nd and 9th is now online at http://gracebc.inf o/audio The Sunday school messages for these week continue our study on God's ways, looking first at God's continuing, involved work in Creation. God is not absent, nor abdicating from "small matters" in His creation. We then look at what is typically referred to as "the problem of evil"; that is, how God can be sovereign and good, and yet allow suffering and sin to occur. Many who approach this question approach it from the wrong perspective: that the existence of suffering contradicts God's sovereignty or goodness. Understood rightly, we see that God uses these trials for His purposes. Our sermons for these weeks press on in Matthew 5, beginning the Sermon on the Mount and learning from the Beatitudes about what it actually means to be blessed by God.
Sermon and Sunday School audio for February 2nd and 9th is now available for download! In the main service for these two weeks, Dave Stephenson continues an examination of the temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4. In the sermon for February 2nd, Dave examines from Matthew 4:5-7 how effective and correct understanding of Scripture is powerful to combat temptation -- and how wrong use (or abuse) of Scripture can be used to justify sinful conduct. In the sermon for February 9th, Dave notes humanity's unavoidable hard-wired inclination to worship. By Jesus's example in Matthew 4:9-11, we see how to avoid false worship, instead worshiping God rightly. The Sunday school messages for these two weeks continue the systematic theology series, studying more of God's incommunicable attributes. On February 2nd, we examined both the immanence (existence in time and space) and the transcendence (existence outside of time and space) of God; though the two seem paradoxically in conflict, both are Biblically-evidenced attributes of God. On February 9th, we studied the often-difficult-to-understand truth of the Trinity by its Scriptural basis. http://gracebc.inf o/audio
A recent message on Matthew 4:1-4 looked at 4 keys to resisting temptation. 1. Remember who is controlling temptation. The Spirit of God was in control, Satan was doing the tempting. 2. Realize when temptation is likely. 3. Recognize the appeal in temptation. Every time you fail, there's a reason why. 4. Remember your responsibility. Resist the Devil.
